Collinet at Pantagruel: seating for a Michelin-starred restaurant

Dec 16, 2025

Pantagruel, gastronomic excellence

Located in the heart of Paris's dynamic 18th arrondissement, Restaurant Pantagruel is much more than just a place to eat: it is an essential destination for French haute cuisine. The talented chef Jason Gouzy, awarded one star in the Michelin Guide, offers a perfect blend of tradition and bold creativity. The chef has two pieces of news: he is moving to a more spacious location on Rue de Richelieu, making way for a new restaurant, Chez Panurge both establishments are furnished by Collinet.
To showcase this refinement, the interior design of Le Pantagruel was entrusted to the renowned expertise of architect Philippe Medioni (AAPHM Architecte). The goal was clear: to create a sophisticated and timeless decor, offering maximum comfort without detracting from the delicacy of the art of the table. This architectural masterpiece is in perfect harmony with the meticulous precision of Chef Gouzy's dishes.

Philippe Medioni's contribution and the Collinet selection

Architect Philippe Medioni made a strategic choice when it came to seating. To furnish the tables of the Michelin-starred restaurant, he selected a classic piece from Collinet, a centerpiece in the restaurant's aesthetic: the Louis XVI Jacob Cabricolet.
This choice illustrates the successful combination of Philippe Medioni's contemporary architectural rigor and the heritage elegance of French-style furniture. The Louis XVI Jacob armchair is ideal for structuring a dining area. Its presence immediately lends a historical cachet while blending effortlessly with contemporary materials. The balance of its forms ensures fluid circulation, essential in a gastronomic establishment, while offering generous seating.

The Louis XVI Jacob Armchair: comfort, prestige, and durability

The centerpiece of the interior design, the Louis XVI Jacob armchair is a symbol of prestige and history for the Pantagruel Restaurant. True to the Louis XVI style, it stands out for its straight lines, discreet fluting, and understated ornamentation. It adds a touch of refined classicism that acts as an elegant counterpoint to the modernity of the Parisian interior design.

Essential for a prolonged dining experience, this bridge chair ensures optimal comfort for Pantagruel's guests. Its careful craftsmanship, including high-quality upholstery, allows customers to focus fully on their meal. More than just aesthetics, it is durability that guided this choice. Manufactured according to Collinet's artisanal expertise, the Bridge guarantees stability and longevity. Every detail of its design attests to the excellence of French manufacturing.

Thanks to this successful collaboration between architect Philippe Medioni and Maison Collinet, Restaurant Pantagruel offers an exceptional setting that confirms its place among the great Michelin-starred restaurants of Paris.
